PART 1. CONFIGURE VIRTUAL MACHINE

The first step is to create a virtual disk to install MacOS Sierra

Step 1. Create a VirtualMachine

Open VirtualBox and create a new VirtualMachine, from the top menu select new

  • Name: Mac OS Sierra
  • Type: Mac OS X
  • Version: Mac OS X (64-bit)

Step 2. Select the amount of memory

The next step is to select the amount of RAM that will be allocated for the use of the VM. The minimum indicated is at least 4GB (4096MB).

Step 3. Choose the type of hard drive

In the selection you can decide whether to create a new hard drive, or use one (choose use existing virtual hard disk and select the path of your image donloaded before), then press Create.

Step 4. Advanced Settings

After creating the virtual machine, you need to configure some advanced settings, like video and amount of processors to use.
From the main screen of VirtualBox press the mouse right button on the new machine created then select Settings …

Step 5. Set the motherboard chipset

Enter the side menu System & gt; Motherboard

  • Start order: Disable the floppy
  • Chipset: ICH9
  • Pointing Type: optical Tablet
  • Extended features:
    • Enable I/O APIC
    • Enable EFI
    • Enable hardware clock

Before installation, the last step is to run a few commands from the Windows console (if you do not know how to start the console, see how to open Windows console)

Move to VirtualBox directory and run these commands (copy and paste in the command prompt)

Notes: If you added the virtual machine with a name different to Mac OS Sierra, changes any occurrency of Mac OS Sierra within double quotes, with the name that you given.

 

PART 2 INSTALL MAC OS SIERRA

Step 1. Start the virtual machine

From the VirtualBox main screen select Mac OS Sierra and then Start.
